“Jaskier’s Search for Belonging Ends as He Finds His “Found Family””

Joey Batey is excited to take on the role of the weird uncle in Season 3 of The Witcher. During a visit to the set, Batey and Freya Allan revealed more about their characters Jaskier and Ciri, and how they fit into the upcoming season.

While the first two seasons kept the main cast apart, Season 2 brought everyone together by the end. Jaskier’s role in the show’s found family has expanded and he will be more involved in the political machinations of the Continent. Batey also enjoyed working with Geralt (Henry Cavill) and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) for the first time, and appreciated getting to know his fellow actors better on set.

Allan is also excited about the relationship between Jaskier and Ciri in Season 3. With Geralt and Yennefer essentially playing the roles of Ciri’s parents, Jaskier brings a much-needed levity into her life.

Season 3 of The Witcher will be split into two parts, with Volume 1 arriving on Netflix on June 29 and Volume 2 on July 27. Stay tuned for more exclusive scoops from Collider’s set visit.
